CITY NOTES
How would you describe Boulder to someone who’s never been?
Boulder is a mountain town but it’s so much more than that. it’s a portal into a slower, more connected way of living. It has an energy that’s equal parts crunchy and curious with the kindest, most down to earth people.
What makes it feel meaningful to you, either now or over time?
After living there for almost three years, it still feels like a mind-body-soul reset. It’s the place I return to again and again for my nature fix and to remember what it means to feel grounded and surrounded by salt of the earth people.
What three words capture its essence?
Expansive. Rooted. Nourishing.
When is the best time of year to visit, and why?
Late spring into early summer, around June and early july is my favorite. The wildflowers bloom, farmers markets explode with color, and you can jump into the creeks (chilly from snow melt!) after long sunny hikes.
Where would you stay for a dream weekend?
A mountain chic airbnb with huge windows and 360 views up Sunshine Canyon.
RHYTHM & RITUAL
How do you start your mornings?
With green juice, a walk around Wonderland Lake, and a stop at Wonder for their Green Monkey Smoothie (add collagen!) – or if it’s chilly, for a bone broth.
A favorite place for a mid-day break—coffee, lunch, or something slower?
Suti for a coffee, maybe a pastry, and their sunshiney patio
Where do you love to dine?
The Kitchen for elevated classics from local purveyors, Blackbelly for the best steak and veggies, or Stella’s Cucina for a little upscale city vibe. And I can’t forget the farm dinner at the Black Cat for a super special farm-to-table experience.
Is there a food spot you almost hesitate to share because it’s just that good?
Lucky’s Café tucked behind a coffee shop in North Boulder. It’s unassuming but my favorite - they have delicious zucchini bread and omelettes.
DESIGN & INSPIRATION
A space that inspires you with its design:
Boulder Dushanbe Tea House. a hand-carved, hand-painted gift from sister city Tajikistan, it's transportive in every sense.
A favorite store or boutique:
Cedar & Hyde Mercantile for curated slow fashion, pantry goods, and apothecary finds.
If your city had a scent or texture, how would you describe it?
Pine sap warmed by the sun :)
A place you return to again and again to feel grounded or inspired:
Boulder Canyon trail and its icy creek dips always reset me.
